Q. What is the drying time of the screed?
A. This depends on the depth of the screed, however in general our screed will allow light foot traffic within 24-48 hours.

Q. What depth of screed do you recommend?
A. Fully Bonded 25mm, Unbonded 30mm. Over acoustic/insulation matting 35mm for domestic use and 40mm for commercial areas.

Q. I have heard that underfloor heating takes a long time to heat up and cool down, is this true?
A. A good system with the correct intelligent controls will allow you to pre-programme heat up times to switch on beforehand, so that the property is at the required temperature. Intelligent controls use past history, to build a pattern of your heating requirements, this also applies to cooling down periods.

Q. Can I have underfloor heating if my floors are in place but I want to do a refurbishment of my property?
A. Yes, we have systems that compliment your refurbishment we are experts in ensuring that you have the correct system for your property. You can even add to the system at a later date, by designing the correct system at the start, will save you money in the long term and fit in with your refurbishment budget over time.

Q. Can I fit underfloor heating myself? I have heard its really easy and have watched a couple of videos.
A. Underfloor heating is a specialist job and our engineers know exactly how to install your pipework at the correct centres for your heat source. Together with the correct manifold locations and balancing and pressure testing of your system prior to screed is extremely important. Costs that are cut in the preparation and installation of underfloor heating will be costly in the future, you only put your floors in once and you wouldn’t want to have to dig them back up.

Q. I have a joisted timber floor can I have underfloor heating?
A. There are forms of underfloor heating to fit every type of floor construction (screeds, fully floating timber floors, battened and joisted floors), as well as floor constructions that incorporate acoustic components.
